The Australian international completed her move to City last week on a two-year deal – and could be in line for an immediate debut in Tuesday’s UEFA Women’s Champions League second round first leg tie away to the Spanish side.
When speaking to City Studios after sealing her move, the versatile defender/midfielder spoke about how the prospect of playing in Europe’s elite competitions was one that filled her with excitement and anticipation.
And at Monday night’s pre-match press conference after the City squad landed in the Spanish capital, Kennedy expressed her anticipation at the prospect of potentially making her City and European bow.

“To play in the Champions League is exciting for me,” Kennedy asserted.
“I haven’t been a part of that yet so to come up against another great club will be a challenge for us and a good place to start in the Champions League if I do make my debut hopefully.
“Every competition is a priority when you play in it. We focus on each game and tournament as they come.
“But I think for everyone outside of the national team the Champions League is the pinnacle. It’s definitely top of the list or up high I would say.
“For me, we haven’t won anything of real significance with Australia, we came close a few times.
“In terms of club football, I’ve won a few titles in the different leagues I’ve played in. I think I’d love to check the WSL off but the Champions League is the pinnacle so that would be amazing too.”

And Kennedy also revealed that her parents would be tuning in back home in Australia – despite the game kicking off at 4am local time Down Under!
The 26-year-old has the number 33 tattooed on her arm – and revealed the number – which she will wear at City – carried special family significance.
“My parents are my biggest fans, they love their football so I don’t think they’ll miss that,” Kennedy added.
“They’ll be up no matter the time. Unfortunately for them it’s the crack of dawn but that’s fine.
“As for number 33, it’s my dad’s favourite number, and one I’ve adopted as one of my favourites as well.
“Usually, I’ve worn 14 for most of my career but it was taken here so I was happy to wear 33.
“I know my dad’s excited for me to represent him in a way. I’m excited to be wearing it.”
