EURO 2022 proved to be a tournament to remember for a host of Manchester City players as England claimed a historic first European Championship title.

City had seven representatives in the history-making Lionesses squad, with a further four players involved with other nations, including Norway’s Julie Blakstad, Filippa Angeldahl of Sweden and the Spanish duo of Leila Ouahabi and Laia Aleixandri.

Kerstin Casparij, meanwhile, signed for the Club following the Netherlands exit at the quarter-final stage.

City’s England contingent had their fingerprints all over the host nation’s landmark triumph, with Chloe Kelly netting the winner in the final against Germany and Keira Walsh being named Player of the Match.

Alex Greenwood, Lauren Hemp, Ellie Roebuck, Demi Stokes and Ellen White all played their part, too, and here, we look at the some of the most eye-catching numbers behind City players’ performances at EURO 2022.

6

Lauren Hemp led England for completed dribbles at the entire tournament, sharing the title with Arsenal’s Beth Mead and Georgia Stanway.

7

The number of City players in the England squad, which is more than any other side in the Women’s Super League.

7

Hemp won possession in the final third on a total of seven occasions. That was the most by an England player, with Ellen White tied for second place with Player of the Tournament Mead on six.

8

The number of shots Filippa Angeldahl took in Sweden’s 1-0 quarter-final victory over Belgium. The Blue and Yellows registered 33 efforts to the Red Flames’ three in what proved to be a one-sided but tight affair.

Angeldahl’s eight was the joint most in a single game at the tournament alongside France’s Wendie Renard, who also achieved the feat against Belgium.

15

White’s total number of shots across the entire tournament and the most by an England player alongside Mead and Stanway.

25

The number of dribbles Hemp attempted. The City winger registered more attempts than any other member of the Lionesses squad, with Lucy Bronze’s 17 the second highest achieved in Sarina Wiegman’s side.

88.07

Keira Walsh’s passing accuracy, which was the highest in the England squad for players who had attempted at least 100 passes.

The defensive midfielder came out on top for the eventual champions, edging captain Leah Williamson (86.98) into second place.

City team-mate Alex Greenwood ranked third in the squad with 84.51.
