The City and England striker played a key role in lifting Gareth Taylor‘s side to within two points of league leaders Chelsea on Sunday, becoming the division’s all-time leading goalscorer in the process.
White opened the scoring with a fantastic first-time finish to help her side to a superb 2-1 win at Arsenal - a pivotal result at the top, especially with Chelsea and second-placed Manchester United both on the losing side.
Also the Lionesses’ record World Cup goalscorer, White is a veteran of the English game - and believes this season’s hunt for the league crown could be the most exciting.
“I think potentially, it’s the best ever,” she reflected.
“The WSL is getting bigger and better - more competitive with so many players wanting to come over and play here... it’s so exciting.
“For the neutral and all the fans, it’s an exciting one.”
Reflecting on her personal accolade, White remained ever humble, crediting her teammates for her success, adding how much she is enjoying forming fruitful partnerships with Chloe Kelly and matchwinner Lauren Hemp.
“It’s nice [to reach the milestone] but I just want to concentrate on what I can do for the team,” she declared.
“I haven’t really seen the goal back but I’m really happy. I was delighted to get on the end of it.
“I’ve been working hard with Chloe and Lauren to try and get that relationship, with them crossing it and me finishing it.
“They’re unbelievable players and great girls as well. They’ve got an amazing future ahead of them.
“I’m so happy to create a partnership with them. It’s coming to fruition.
“It was all about the result and thankfully, we got the three points.”
White was also impressed with City’s response to Arsenal’s leveller. The Gunners equalised somewhat against the run of play before the hour-mark but Taylor’s side rallied to grind out an impressive result.
“It was scrappy in tough conditions but it showed our grit and determination,” she said.
“We were disappointed to concede but it shows our character. We really wanted the three points and it shows what we’re about as a squad.
“It wasn’t out best game but the best teams don’t necessarily always play the best football.
“We’re fighting, training and working hard to get as many points as possible.”
City will now ready themselves for another huge, top-of-the-table clash: Friday’s mouth-watering Manchester Derby.

Taylor’s side welcome the Reds to the Academy Stadium for just our second home league encounter against our cross-town rivals, looking to leapfrog Casey Stoney’s side in the table.
White admits there is more than just bragging rights on the line and says she anticipates another hotly-contested affair between the two sides.
“We’ve got a big game on Friday. It’s all focus on that game now,” she continued.
“We love playing at the Academy Stadium. It’ always a tough match and we just want to keep our momentum and confidence going. Hopefully, it’ll be a great game.
“We’re just trying to concentrate on each game as it comes and pick up as many points as possible.”
