The Jamaican striker has bagged 11 goals in 16 games, including a hat-trick in the Women’s FA Cup and an impressive double in the Conti Cup quarter-finals.
The 25-year-old, who celebrated her birthday this week, says the team are relishing the challenge of the upcoming weeks, eager to finish the season with silverware.
“We have very exciting games,” she told mancity.com. “The bigger the game, the more exciting it is.
“We’ve been doing well, getting positive results so we’ve just got to keep that form going.”
Though Shaw’s City career so far has proven more stop-start than she would have liked, the striker has been pleased with her contribution overall.
Having had to adapt to a new country, environment, playing style, league and personnel, she admits it has taken time to settle.
However, now finding her feet, she asserts she is ready to push on with plenty more to come from the forward.
“It’s always a good feeling when you score goals and can help the team progress and have a momentum to build on,” she added.
“Coming back [at Christmas] wasn’t great, having had COVID-19, but I wanted to show what I could do and I’ve been doing that and just have to keep going.
“I knew that in the beginning, it was going to take time. I’ve always been a person to adapt and certain environments just take longer than others.
“I was patient with myself and knew that when the time came, it would click. I just had to keep it going.”
Upon her arrival in Manchester, Shaw spoke of her desire to win trophies, as well as her hopes of bettering herself as a player.
Playing at home against Spurs in the Conti Cup semi-finals, the squad will look to utilise home advantage in their bid to earn progression to the Final where Chelsea await the winners.
Now fully settled into ‘City life’, Bunny says she would love nothing more than to lift a trophy in her debut season, hoping to play her part in making history with the Club.
“That was one of the objectives coming in,” she stated.
“The season didn’t start the way we wanted it to but we’re in a good place right now.
“We just need to keep that momentum going because when it’s against you, it’s against you and when it’s with you, you just have to keep on pushing.
“We’re really looking forward to the game against Tottenham and hopefully, we can push past that and get that trophy for sure.”
