GARETH TAYLOR PREVIEW
The City defender has been ruled out with an Achilles issue since January’s 1-1 draw with Aston Villa.
The boss also said fellow defenders Demi Stokes and Kerstin Casparij, were in line to feature, but Australian duo Alanna Kennedy and Hayley Raso would be unavailable.
International women’s day kit
Inspired by Emmeline Pankhurst who helped shape the Suffragette movement, the new range celebrates both her Manchester roots and overriding vision for female equality.
A vision shared by the Club’s very own Same City Same Passion campaign, that aims to inspire more females to play football.
Our men’s team will wear the kit during our warmup and walkout at this weekend’s Premier League match against Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday 4 March.
Gareth Taylor‘s side will also play in the kit on Sunday, while all mascots for both fixtures will also be female participants from CITC programmes.
FORM GUIDE
City come into the tie in phenomenal form, having lost just once across our last 19 matches in all competitions.
Across this run of matches we have won 16 times and drawn twice.
As a result, we are now only three points of the league’s summit in a title race which is gearing up to be a thrilling affair.
Meanwhile, Spurs are searching for a first WSL win since October, leaving them ninth in the table.
LAST TIME OUT
City advanced into the last-eight of the Women’s FA Cup with an excellent 8-1 victory at Bristol City.
Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw hit an incredible four goals, while Julie Blakstad (two) and Filippa Angeldahl were also on the scoresheet.
And it was a day to savour for youngster Jemima Dahou who scored her first for the Club late on.
PREVIOUS MEETING
A Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw brace and a clinical Lauren Hemp strike secured our first away win of the season in the reverse fixture in October 2022.
A powerful header from the Jamaican just before half-time handed us a deserved lead at the interval, before she rifled home shortly after the re-start.
To round off a fantastic display in the capital Hemp fired home at Brisbane Road to secure a 3-0 victory.
