The Club’s foundation has begun an exciting partnership with the global leader in intelligent humanoid robots, which will deliver bespoke coding lessons in order to complement the national curriculum for computing.
Forty-five primary schools across the city will benefit from this new initiative, which will give pupils the unique opportunity to explore topics such as research technologies, software usage, design and writing programs, and logic and reasoning.
“We are delighted to be partnering with UBTECH to offer this innovative IT programme,” said Head of City in the Community, Mike Green.
“This provision will give children the tools to confidently use technology and gain a range of skills which will help prepare them for future trends in the digital world.
“To be able to use the power of football to inspire and educate children both on and off the pitch is something that City in the Community is immensely proud of, and to have the support of UBTECH in helping us achieve this is fantastic for the foundation and young people in Manchester.”
The partnership was launched earlier this month with year 5 pupils at E-ACT Academy in Blackley, who demonstrated how to programme their JIMU robots to pass a ball and perform a City goal celebration.
