Goals from Gabriel Jesus, Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling handed City a third win in four warm-up games and the manager was pleased to end what he believes has been a summer of many positives on a high.
“(It was) a good result against a Premier League team,” he explained.
“We created enough to score three goals, everyone played on a good level and our strikers scored. And, no injuries, so we are happy.”
City were dominant in Iceland, enjoying much of the possession in the Hammers half and with Ederson forced to make only one save.
It was a competent performance and one, which, along with the US tour matches, leaves Guardiola feeling positive ahead of his side’s Premier League opener against Brighton next weekend.
“We had good games against four amazing teams,” the Catalan added.
“We played good, we won games and we always created more than the opponent. We are quite satisfied, but the reality starts now.
“We have to do that under pressure.”
The manager admitted he is yet to make any decisions for the trip to the south coast, but regardless of who starts the first game of the season he is happy with the balance of the squad at his disposal.
“We have a lot of players with a lot of quality, that’s why I’m so grateful for what the Club has done.
“With respect to the players last season, we were one of the oldest teams in the Premier League. Danilo, Bernardo, Mendy, Ederson – we’ve bought young players.
“I think we need something a little bit more. The transfer window finishes 31 August, we will see.
“I am happy with the way they work and the players know that. They have to show me this every day.
“We want to fight in every game.”
