De Bruyne was at his brilliant best against Crystal Palace last Saturday and the goals he made for Vincent Kompany and Nicolas Otamendi have put him three ahead of his nearest rival Christian Eriksen in the battle to top the goal assist charts.
De Bruyne is ending the campaign in a rich vein of form and set up another couple in the 3-0 win at Southampton last month.
Though the goals have not flowed as freely this term, his amazing record of nine woodwork strikes this campaign mean just a coat of pain has been between him being on 14 goals rather than five.
Champions-elect Chelsea’s top assist player is Cesc Fabregas (11) while fellow countryman Eden Hazard isn’t in the top 10 as yet.
Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez and Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha are also both on nine while Everton’s Ross Barkley, Chelsea’s Pedro and West Brom’s Matt Phillips have eight each.
City have two more players in the Top 10 with Silva and Raheem Sterling both on seven and hoping to climb higher in the games that remain.
