Pep Guardiola’s squad will take on Barcelona at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida in the early hours of Wednesday 31 July.  

Kick-off between the two European giants is at 00:00 (UK)/19:00 (EDT).

WHEN AND WHERE

City’s latest stop on the Club’s 2024 US Tour will see the squad travel from New York City to Orlando, Florida.

The Camping World Stadium will play host to our friendly with Barcelona at 00:00 (UK) on Wednesday 31 July / 19:00 (EDT) on Tuesday 30 July.

Our Matchday Live show will begin around an hour before kick-off with Nedum Onuoha and Izzy Christiansen our special guests in the studio alongside Natalie Pike. And live from the States, FG will be alongside City legends Joleon Lescott and Shaun Wright-Phillips to provide insight from the stadium.

Those with push notifications turned on in the app will be alerted to key moments throughout the game as they happen.

Alistair Mann and Shaun Goater will be on hand throughout the evening to guide fans through proceedings with live audio commentary while our text commentary continues.

A detailed match report, as well as reaction from Pep Guardiola and players alike, can also be accessed soon after the final whistle.

Xavi’s Barcelona were looking to retain the La Liga title for a second successive season but ended up falling 10 points behind new winners Real Madrid.

And their performances in cup competitions were below par compared to recent success.

They were knocked out of the Copa Del Rey and UEFA Champions League in the quarter-finals after respective defeats to Athletic Club and Paris Saint-Germain.

PREVIOUS MEETING

City’s most recent friendly meeting with Barcelona dates back to August 2022  which ended in a thrilling 3-3 draw at the Nou Camp.

The game saw two of Europe’s best footballing sides raise money to aid research into into amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in aid of the Luzon Foundation, organised in honour of former Barca keeper Juan Carlos Unzue who was diagnosed with ALS in 2020.

On the competitive stage, our last encounter with the Spanish Giants was on 1 November 2016. A 3-1 win at the Etihad Stadium was City’s first Champions League triumph over Barcelona, courtesy of an Ilkay Gundogan brace and Kevin De Bruyne strike.

However, all US Tour matches will be broadcast live on CITY+ in the following countries: United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Japan, Norway, Sweden and United Arab Emirates.

For our clash with Barcelona, the following countries will also have access to the broadcast: Belgium, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, New Zealand

And if purchasing CITY+ via the Man City App on iOS: Albania, Cambodia, Georgia, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar, Philippines, Uzbekistan.
