“Sheffield when I saw it yesterday when we land from Munich is it’s quite similar the way they played under Chris Wilder. Incredible first season.  A lot of patterns.

“Two games away from Premier League promotion and it will be an extremely difficult game. For the quality of the set pieces, build up and building the channels. They are so aggressive in the duals. This is the feeling I have. We need to be there.”

PREVIOUS MEETING

Gabriel Jesus was the match winner last time we faced Sheffield United in a 1-0 victory in January 2021.

The Brazilian’s well-taken close range strike inside 10 minutes was enough to secure three points at the Etihad Stadium.

And the victory also signalled Guardiola’s 500^th success as a manager as we went on to lift the 2020/21 Premier League crown at the season’s end.

LAST TIME OUT

City secured passage into the UEFA Champions League semi-final with a 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich last time out.

Following our 3-0 victory in the first leg, the stalemate saw us advance 4-1 on aggregate at the Allianz Arena. 

Erling Haaland opened the scoring before Joshua Kimmich’s penalty levelled the scores in Germany.
