City and Sevilla have faced each other three times in Europe’s elite club competition, with the last meeting coming back in September in the opening fixture of this season’s group stages.
Guardiola’s side put on a masterclass out in Seville with striker Erling Haaland netting his first Champions League goals for the Club.
Phil Foden and defender Ruben Dias also netted in that game, giving City a 4-0 win at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizhjuan and the best possible start to life in Group G.
We returned to the summit of the Premier League table with a 1-0 win over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium. A stunning Kevin De Bruyne free-kick saw us leave the East Midlands with all three points.
Whereas Sevilla were on the wrong side of a 1-0 scoreline against Rayo Vallecano on home soil, leaving them in 17th spot in the La Liga table just above the drop zone on goal difference.
We have already secured safe passage to the knockout stages of the competition as group winners, following our draw against Borussia Dortmund last time out.
Meanwhile the Los Nervionenses look set to drop into the Europa League as things stand.
Manchester City will play Sevilla at home, in the third home group stage match of the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League on Wednesday 2nd November, kick-off 8pm.
