City moved 10 points clear at the top of the table with a 3-1 win over Everton in midweek.
It was our 17th successive victory in all competitions and extended our unbeaten run to 24 games.
It’s a remarkable, record-breaking run of form, with City now many people’s firm favourites to win the title for the third time in four seasons.
But Guardiola says it would be foolish to ease up now, citing the recent swing in points between City and Liverpool as a clear example of how quickly things can alter.
“Every game we play to achieve something,” he said.
“If we want to be closer and arrive with a chance of winning the Premier League, we have to continue.
“How many points do we have as an advantage over Leicester and United? 10 points. How many points to play for? 42!
“When this happens, many things can happen.

“I am going to explain you something. 10 days ago we played at Anfield. We were seven points in front. Losing we would have been four. 10 days later we are 16 points in front of Liverpool.
“That means in just 10 days absolutely everything can change. We could have been four, but we have 16.
“The best thing is to focus on the next game, don’t listen much to what people have to say about the team.
“Of course, we are so proud of what we have done so far but we are in February. Springtime is not here - and you win titles in the summertime.
“Still we have a lot of games, a lot of tough moments to fight and a lot of good moments to enjoy.”

Meanwhile, Guardiola rejected Carlo Ancelotti’s assessment that City are “almost impossible” to play against.
The Everton boss was full of praise for City in the aftermath of our midweek win at Goodison Park, describing us as “the best team” in the Premier League who possess “quality, power, belief”.
Ancelotti is one of the most well-respected figures in the game having constructed the great AC Milan side of the mid-2000s and is one of only three managers to win the Champions League on three occasions.
Guardiola says he has huge admiration for Ancelotti but does not believe his side are impossible to defeat, particularly in a division as strong as the Premier League.
“I appreciate it but I am not agreeing with Carlo,” he said. “Absolutely I do not agree.
“We can lose. Opponents are good. We try and do better every game. This is our only target.
“I love Carlo, he is an incredible inspiration for me as a manager, for many things, but I do not agree with him.”
