Three changes for City

Pep Guardiola makes three changes top his starting line-up as City take on Wolves this evening.

Bernardo, Phil Foden and Fernandinho all start, with Jack Grealish and Gabriel Jesus dropping down to the bench.

Ruben Dias joins Kyle Walker and John Stones on the injured list.

PEP GUARDIOLA PREVIEW

Speaking in his press conference on Tuesday, Guardiola said: “Both teams [City and Liverpool] have done impressive Premier League seasons. We know exactly what we have to do: nine points and we are going to try.

“Tomorrow is a final, Wednesday gives us an opportunity to arrive to the last game against Aston Villa with it in our hands. It’s massively important.

“They are always dangerous for the transition from Dendoncker, the quality of Moutinho, the personality and competitiveness they have.

“The back five that they play, they are one of the toughest away games we have in the season but at the same time we know how important it is.

“Hopefully we recover well from last week and can do a good game. This is the most important thing in our heads right now.”

Last time out

City put five past Newcastle on Sunday afternoon, taking us three victories away from a fourth Premier League title in five seasons.

Raheem Sterling scored twice at the Etihad Stadium as City blew out the cobwebs from Champions League heartbreak earlier in the week.

The England man struck first with a diving header from close range to put City ahead and then with a rifled shot into the top corner to complete the victory.

In between those strikes were goals for Aymeric Laporte, Rodri and Phil Foden.

Wolves will be buoyed by their late comeback against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. 2-0 down with 11 minutes to go, Trincao put Bruno Lage’s side back in the match before a 97th equaliser from Conor Coady snatched a point.

A second major milestone was achieved that day as Ederson reached his 100th clean sheet for City in just 212 appearances.

That gave City a four point lead at the top of table ahead of second-placed Liverpool, while Chelsea sat an extra point back. Both sides won later that day to return to within touching distance of City.
