GARETH TAYLOR PREVIEW

Gareth Taylor says Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw is available for selection for Manchester City’s top-of-the-table clash with Chelsea.

The Jamaican had been replaced in the second half in our recent 1-0 win over Arsenal, with the boss explaining that she’d been nursing a calf strain.

But Taylor has revealed that Shaw is fit to face Chelsea on Friday.

“She [Bunny] is fine, it’s something she’s managing but she’s raring to go. She’s really important for us and been such a focal point for the team and our success.

“She’s always carrying knocks because of how she plays, she’s physical and takes the knocks. She’ll never be 100% but it’s very rare players are with the heavy load we have.”

LAST TIME OUT

City reached the FA Cup quarter-finals with a hard fought 1-0 win over Arsenal in our previous outing.

During a battling encounter in the capital, Laia Aleixandri’s strike in the 74th minute was enough to secure the success and with it our 10th straight win in all competitions.

PREVIOUS MEETING

A heroic City performance earned us a 1-1 draw with Chelsea in October’s reverse fixture at the Joie Stadium.

Having deservedly taken the lead through Chloe Kelly’s first-half stunner, we were reduced to nine players with red cards to Alex Greenwood and Lauren Hemp either side of the break.

However, through a combination of stellar Khiara Keating saves and colossal rearguard action we looked like we might record a famous victory.

But Guro Reiten’s 96th-minute strike earned Emma Hayes’ side a share of the spoils.
