Electronic Arts Inc. and Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) have announced a three-year partnership extension that will see EA Sports sponsor Match Officials in the Women's game.

The three-year partnership extension will see EA SPORTS continue as an Official Partner until the end of the 2024 / 25 season, sponsoring Match Officials in the Premier League, Emirates FA Cup and across the EFL.

However, for the very first time, EA SPORTS will also sponsor Match Officials in the Barclays WSL, Barclays Women’s Championship, FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup and the Vitality Women’s FA Cup.

The new agreement provides EA SPORTS with more designation and promotional rights, including shirt sleeve and training wear branding on all professional match referees, assistant referees and fourth officials. Plus, promotion across publicity materials including referee handbooks and other PGMOL Official Documentation.

The renewal gives EA SPORTS branded visibility in a considerable number of professional football matches every season, across the three major English football bodies that PGMOL works with - the Premier League, The FA and EFL.

Mike Riley,  Managing Director of PGMOL, said: “We have enjoyed a successful partnership with EA SPORTS for seven years so we are naturally delighted to continue our partnership until 2025. They continue to be a great fit for PGMOL given their strong affiliation with football and their commitment to promoting the women’s game.

“This partnership also aids  our continued desire to  enhance the development of  refereeing in England  as it helps us to fund the training and development of officials”

“We’re thrilled to continue working with the Professional Game Match Officials Board across Men’s and now Women’s football” said James Salmon, Marketing Director, EA SPORTS FIFA. “We’re looking forward to continuing our longstanding relationship and working closely in partnership to deliver authentic experiences to fans in FIFA 23 and beyond.”
