Get the lowdown ahead of Manchester City’s Barclays Women’s Super League clash with Arsenal.

WHEN AND WHERE

Gareth Taylor’s side host the Gunners this Saturday, with kick-off scheduled for 14:15 (UK).

Following our impressive 4-0 win at Bristol City last time out, we approach this latest fixture at the summit of the WSL six points ahead of second-placed Chelsea, albeit having played two more games than Emma Hayes’s side.

As ever, comprehensive coverage will be provided on the official app and mancity.com – meanwhile, regular updates will be posted on X: @ManCityWomen.

APP COVERAGE

The Official Man City App will have all bases at the Joie Stadium covered.

Our Matchday Centre will get under way from 12:15 (UK) and will provide detailed text commentary, stats and analysis before, during and after the game.

Shaun Wright-Phillips and Tash Harding will be the special guests on Matchday Live which starts roughly an hour before kick-off.

Live audio commentary will also be provided, and those with push notifications turned on can be alerted to all the key bits of the action as they unfold.

A comprehensive match report, plus reaction from Taylor and members of his squad will be published on mancity.com and our official app shortly after the final whistle.

Short and extended highlights, as well as a CITY+ full-match replay will be made available at 12:00 (UK) this coming Monday.

GARETH TAYLOR PREVIEW

Gareth Taylor spoke to the media on Friday to preview the clash with Arsenal.

On the title race and Chelsea’s midweek defeat he said: “It’s changed nothing. There’s been a lot of talk around it but the objective is the same, win  the next game.

“We kept that as our focus, it’s about not worrying too much about elsewhere, Chelsea are still the champions and will be until the final day.

“We’re fighting for that title but with regards to the other night nothing’s changed to what we face at the weekend.

“Who goes into a game to draw? It’s not what anyone ever does. For us it’s about continuing our record of 14, can we make it 15 or 16?

“We have to fight until the end and we will, no doubt about that. Of course trying to work out all the possibilities elsewhere is so difficult to do, you have to be a mathematician to work it out.

“Chelsea are the champions and it won’t change until the last day. They could still do it again.”

LAST TIME OUT

City continued our impressive run of form with a 4-0 victory over Bristol City.

The Robins showed plenty of spirit to keep it 0-0 until Mary Fowler produced a stunning strike just past the hour mark.

That opened the floodgate, with the Australian international doubling the scoreline with a deft finish on 75 minutes before an Amy Rodgers own-goal added another to the scoreline two minutes later.

Captain Alex Greenwood headed home at the death.
It represented our 14th consecutive league win, a fantastic achievement.

PREVIOUS MEETING

We went down 2-1 to the Gunners in the corresponding WSL game back in November 2023.

It was our first defeat of the season in the WSL.
Steph Catley’s opener was cancelled out by Chloe Kelly but Stina Blackstenius scored late to win it for the Gunners at Meadow Park.

We have faced Jonas Eidevall’s side since, defeating the Gunners 1-0 in the FA Cup back in February 2024.

In a battling encounter in the capital, Laia Aleixandri scored the only goal of the game with shy of 15 minutes remaining and extra-time looming.
