Swiss teenage talent

Switzerland international Iman Beney joined City ahead of the 2025/26 season from BSC Young Boys Frauen.

The 18-year-old attacker was integral in helping Young Boys end a 14-year wait for a league title before moving to City, scoring eight times in 21 appearances in the Swiss Super League in 2024/25.

A dynamic, intelligent and hard-working player, those exploits saw her named in the league’s Team of the Year for 2024/25, with Beney also scoring the winner in a penalty shootout victory to secure the title against GC Zurich.

A fully fledged international, Beney made her senior Switzerland debut as a 16-year-old in 2023 and has also played at right-back for her home nation.

And those senior opportunities came after standing out at the 2023 Women’s Under-17 European Championships, where she helped the Swiss reach the semi-finals.

Her two goals and three assists saw her named in the Team of the Tournament, with a call-up to the senior side for the World Cup following later that summer at just 16.

An Anterior Cruciate Ligament rupture in the build-up to the tournament meant Beney missed out on travelling to Australia, but she’s since firmly established herself as an important figure in the Swiss team.

Iman will wear number the number 24 during her time at Manchester City.
