DEVELOPING DEFENDER
Republic of Ireland international O’Hanlon signed for Manchester City on deadline day of the January transfer window in 2024.
The versatile full-back put pen to paper with the Blues, signing a three-and-a-half-year contract which will keep her at the Joie Stadium until the summer of 2027.
In her final season at previous club Peamount United, O’Hanlon played a pivotal role in helping her side lift the League of Ireland title.
But now, the teenage defender is excited by the prospect of flying the nest to continue perfecting her craft in her debut campaign in the Barclays Women’s Super League.
Since breaking into the Republic of Ireland senior squad in April 2023, O’Hanlon has caught the eye of many high-profile clubs but City felt like the right fit for the budding defender.
“I want to be a professional footballer and I want to play for City so it’s a sacrifice [moving away from home] well worth it,” said O’Hanlon in her signing interview.
O’Hanlon can provide strong defensive cover to Gareth Taylor’s experienced backline as well as a confident flair of attacking edge to her play style.
