PEP GUARDIOLA PREVIEW
“People treat us as always really, really well. I know there were a lot of people in Central Park because it’s summer time and the holidays, so a lot of tourists. But really fine.
“We are perfect in Columbus Circle - New York is always a pleasure. The charisma of the city is difficult to find in any other part of the world.
“We are talking when we are together about our aims. But knowing the players I think they will not disappoint us. They will continue to do what they do. I know we are the rivals to be beaten.
“When you see seven years and six Premier Leagues, it’s normal. Everyone wants to beat us. We will do what we do. We see it’s a long competition - we try to do what we want to do. We want to defend our crown properly.
“We won a lot in the last years - we will see how they come back. I will see some gestures, body language and we will see.”
The press conference will be available to watch live on The Official Man City App and mancity.com.
Don’t worry if you can’t watch live, a full recap of the press conference will be available shortly after it has concluded.
AC MILAN’S 2023/24
Last term, Paulo Fonseca’s AC Milan finished second in Serie A on 75 points – 20 behind champions Inter.
A strong start to the campaign saw them win seven of their first eight matches before a four-game winless streak saw them drop from the summit.
But a turn of form saw them lose just four more top-flight matches before the end of the campaign.
In the UEFA Champions League, Milan finished third with eight points from six assignments and in turn qualified for the Europa League.
They went on to beat Rennes 5-3 on aggregate I the play-offs before a 7-3 aggregate triumph over Slavia Prague in the Round of 16.
A 3-1 defeat to Roma saw AC Milan dismissed in the quarter-finals.
In the Coppa Italia, a 4-1 win over Cagliari in the Round of 16 saw them progress to the final eight. But a narrow 2-1 defeat to Atalanta saw them fall just shy of the semi-finals.
