After lifting the Premier League trophy at the Etihad on Sunday, our attention turns to our trip to the Amex Stadium where we take on Roberto De Zerbi’s side on Wednesday 24 May, with kick-off scheduled for 20:00 (UK).

The game is available to watch in the UK on Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Ultra HD.

On the challenge of Brighton, Guardiola said:“Congratulations to Brighton for this incredible achievement of getting into Europe,” the boss said ahead of the game against the Seagulls.

“Roberto De Zerbi is one of the most influential managers in the last 20 years. There is no team that plays the way they play, it’s unique.

“I had the feeling that when he arrived I had an idea the impact he would have on the Premier League would be great but I couldn’t expect him to do it in such a short time.

“They create on average 20-25 chances per game. They monopolise the ball in a way that hasn’t been seen for a long time. Everybody is involved - the goalkeeper is like a holding midfielder.”

Previous Meeting

We welcomed Brighton to the Etihad in October 2022, where we secured a 3-1 win.  

A first half Erling Haaland brace put us in good stead against a quickly improving Brighton side.

Leandro Trossard closed the gap with a goal 13 minutes into the second half before Kevin De Bruyne regained our two-goal lead to help secure a welcomed three points.

Last Time Out

City lifted the Premier League title in our final home game of the 2022/23 season. The title celebrations came after a 1-0 win over Chelsea.

Julian Alvarez scored the only goal of the game, putting City ahead with a shot from just inside the box in the 12^th minute.

The victory has extended City’s winning run to 12 consecutive Premier League games.
