Team news
John Stones makes his first appearance of the season while Bernardo Silva also returns as City make two changes for Sunday’s trip to Newcastle United.
England international Stones, who has had to bide his time so far this term, comes into central defence in place of Ruben Dias who moves to the bench.
Bernardo, meanwhile, is also handed a starting berth in place of Riyad Mahrez in the only other change from the side that beat Bournemouth 4-0 last weekend.
New signing Sergio Gomez, who joined the Club from Anderlecht earlier this week signing a four-year deal, is named amongst the substitutes.
Kalvin Phillips and Cole Palmer, who missed last Saturday’s Bournemouth win with minor niggles, are both fit again and also take their place on the bench.

Just a few days after the crushing blow of Champions League semi-final defeat to Real Madrid, City hammered Newcastle United 5-0 at the Etihad Stadium in May.
It moved us three points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
First-half goals from Raheem Sterling and AymericLaporte put the Blues firmly in command against lively opposition.
Rodrigo bagged the third on the hour, before crucial late goals from Phil Foden and Sterling wrapped up a wonderful afternoon the defending champions to move us within seven points of the title.

Last time out
City made it two wins from two in the Premier League with an emphatic 4-0 defeat of Bournemouth at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
Pep Guardiola’s side were dominant from the first moment to the last, having 19 shots to Bournemouth’s three and enjoying 67% of the ball.
Ilkay Gundogan scored the first after a neat one-two with Erling Haaland, before a Kevin De Bruyne trivela made it two. It was three before half-time thanks to Phil Foden.
The fourth came deep in the second half, when Joao Cancelo’s cross deflected in off Cherries defender Jefferson Lerma.
Newcastle’s last match was a 0-0 draw at Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.
New goalkeeper Nick Pope was the key man for Eddie Howe’s side on the day, making seven saves to keep the Seagulls out.
Ahead of the weekend’s games, City are top of the embryonic Premier League table. We are one of only two sides to have won both of our matches so far, sharing that record with Arsenal.
However, Newcastle have four points from their two matches and, alongside City, are the only other side in the Premier League yet to concede a goal.
Historically, the head-to-head record between the two clubs since the first meeting in 1893 is very tight. City have won 74 of the 186 meetings, with Newcastle victorious of 72 occasions. There have been 40 draws between the sides.
Gomez will only add to City's quality, says Cancelo
Joao Cancelo has welcomed the addition of new signing Sergio Gomez to the City squad and believes the Spanish full-back has only added to the quality at Pep Guardiola’s disposal.
